Course Description

Introductory Physics, without calculus, for liberal arts students and biological science majors. Students needing a laboratory should register for Physics 181. Topics include motion of particles in one and two dimensions, forces, Newton's laws, energy, momentum, angular momentum, and conservation laws, gravitation, fluids: Archimedes and Bernoulli, mechanical waves, sound, temperature, heat, heat engines, laws of thermodynamics.

PPL 60+ or SAT I MSS 610+ or ACT MATH 26+ or one course from MATH 108, 112, 113, 116, 119A, 120R, 122B, 125, 129, or 223. Test scores expire after 2 years.
