LAW445 - Applied Environmental Law
Course Description
This class will introduce students to the principles and practices of environmental law, with an emphasis on regional environmental law applications. In particular, we will examine the United States legal system through the framework of major environmental laws and legal issues. We will focus on commonly encountered problems in environmental compliance, using high profile cases and issues in the southwestern United States to contextualize regional, state, and national laws. This course will combine field trips, written case studies, oral debate, class lectures, presentations, discussion, and group activities, in order to promote essential professional development.
