Course Description
The six-week Pediatric clerkship is divided into two 3-week blocks. Three weeks are spent on the
inpatient service at Banner University Medical Center-Tucson, Diamond Children's [DCMC], and three weeks in the outpatient setting. The outpatient rotation consists of a two-week clinic rotation and a one-week rotation in the Normal Newborn Nursery at Banner University Medical Center -Tucson. Outpatient clinic assignments are either at Banner University Medical Center (BUMC) Elk's 3OPC, BUMC Children's Multispecialty Center (Wilmot Clinic), BUMC North Hills Clinic, BUMC Pantano Clinic, BUMC-Cholla Clinic, a private practice clinic site (dependent on site availability), or a rural clinic site (dependent on site availability). A newborn nursery experience will be part of the outpatient rotation and will occur at BUMC, no matter where the student is assigned for his/her outpatient rotation.
