Course Description

This course is aimed at students wanting a deeper understanding of the structures and functions of muscle tissues. This course will explore molecular-, cellular-, organ-, and systems-level anatomy and physiology of smooth, skeletal, and cardiac muscle tissues. This course will focus on human muscle physiology, with an emphasis on comparative physiology to highlight how these muscle tissues are modified in other species in order to accomplish unique, diverse, and complex movements.
