Course Description
This 2- or 4-week elective is centered around the assessment and management of patients requiring acute, critical illness management of Neurologic origin.
During the rotation, the student will learn to pre-round on an ICU patient, join with the ICU team in patient rounds, engage with residents, Neurology Fellows, Stroke Fellows, Critical Care Fellows, Neuro ICU attendings, ICU nursing and other support staff to provide comprehensive patient care. The student will learn what assessments are needed for Neuro ICU patients and how they differ from other ICUs. The student will also learn Neuro ICU specific history and physical examination skills.
