Program Requirements

Complete ALL of the following :
Introduces students admitted to the university as First-Year students to General Education, reflecting on learning, and developing an ePortfolio. (1 unit)
Earn at least 1 credits from the following:

Complete 1 of the following 4 Foundation Composition options:
1. 3 Course Foundation Composition Sequence
2. 2 Course Foundation Composition Sequence
3. Honors Composition with grade of C or higher
4. Honors Composition with a grade of D and Second Semester Composition

Please note: Students who earn a grade of D in Honors Composition may choose to repeat the course in order to earn a higher grade to satisfy the requirement. Please consults with your major advisor.

Mid-Career Writing Assessment - Complete 2nd semester English Composition with a B grade or higher. Students who do not earn a grade of B or better in 2nd semester English Composition must also satisfy a college or department writing requirement. Consult your major advisor if you do not earn a grade of B in 2nd semester English Composition.

Students in the Eller College of Management must fulfill the Mid-Career Writing Assessment through successful completion of the writing assessment that is a component of BCOM 214.

A grade of C or higher is required in the course that satisfies the second language requirement.

Demonstrate second semester proficiency in a second language by completing a sequence of courses through a second semester or higher level or by passing a language proficiency examination at the second semester level or higher.

Professional Admission to the professional core and major curriculum is required and selective. Selections for Main Campus are made fall and spring semesters for the following semester; applicants to the Online Campus also have a summer option. To apply for Professional Admission, a student must have:

1. A minimum 2.75 Cumulative GPA.
2. Completed or be fully registered for all Eller foundation courses.
3. Turned in the application materials by published deadline.
4. Completed an admissions interview.
5. Completed 50 credits by the end of the application semester.
6. Students intending to pursue a major in Business Economics must earn a C or better in their foundation Economics and Calculus courses.
7. Students intending to pursue a major in Business Analytics must complete or be fully registered for the "Fundamentals of Programming" course prior to applying for admissions to the major.

The following course, while not required prior to professional admission to the Eller College of Management, is required for all Eller business majors and may be taken prior to professional admission to the upper-division coursework.

Business Administration Major

House numbered courses that have a '9' as their middle digit (i.e. 299, 393, 494, etc.) are restricted as follows:

Non-honors students can use no more than 9 units of house numbered courses to meet degree requirements. Units exceeding this limit must be subtracted from the units required towards the degree and graduation.

No more than 3 units of house numbered courses can be used within the major.
Business Administration Major Graduation Requirements
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Complete 2nd semester English Composition with a B grade or higher. All students in the Eller College of Management will fulfill the Mid-Career Writing Assessment through successful completion of the writing assessment that is a component of BCOM 214.
AND
A minimum of 21 units are required in the major.
AND
A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in the major coursework.
AND
A minimum of 21 units of upper-division major coursework must be completed.
AND
A minimum of 12 units in the major must be taken in residence at the University of Arizona.
A minor is optional for this major. Consult with your advisor to select a minor or discuss other options such as selecting a second major.
